Sharing Is Back!
As one of the North West’s leading wedding caterers, we are absolutely delighted to see so many couples opting for relaxed sharing options. It’s great that weddings can be back on a larger scale and guests are so happy to be able to celebrate together again – sharing is back with a boom! From rustic charcuterie boards and platters piled high with choice cuts of meat, seafood and plant-based treats, it’s all about getting involved and having a great time.
Plant-Based Perfection
It’s been very common to include a vegan option on a wedding menu for years now, but we are definitely seeing a major shift towards 100% plant-based fare. Whether it’s a more traditional ‘wedding breakfast’ type affair, cool, colourful canapés or street food stations, more and more couples are making a vegan feast their primary choice. Our Chef Director Phil Williams commented, ‘We are loving the move towards vegan. Vegan dishes can be so creative, visually appealing and delicious and often they cover all guests’ dietary requirements in one. We are constantly evolving our vegan offering here at Cheeky Chilli and the possibilities really are endless.’
Set The Tone
They’ve never really gone out of fashion, but Canapés are more popular than ever. Now that we are back to full-scale celebrations, the wedding morning can be long and busy with little of no time to eat. That means that by the time the ceremony is over many guests are ravenous. Throw in extended photography time and some free-flowing welcome drinks and you may be looking at some rowdy wedding speeches! With over fourteen yyears’ experience catering for thousands of weddings across the north west, we would ALWAYS recommend treating guests to some delicious canapés before the main sit-down meal.
Fast, Funky & Fun
The trend for festival style street food and fast funky evening food is showing no signs of slowing down. From cool, street food stations that really bring the theatre to your celebration to quirky, fun fast-food style options – just perfect for a full-on evening bash.
Fish n chip cones, mini slider burgers, and gyros wraps are still super-popular, but think outside the box with tapas boards, street tacos and globally inspired tray service all hot-to-trot in 2024 and beyond!
Amazing Grazing
Possibly the hottest trend we’ve seen in the last few years, grazing tables are getting bigger, better and even more beautiful! Our new range of vegan grazing tables have been a super popular addition this year, whilst the more traditional cheese, charcuterie, pâté, bread, and fruit varieties are getting more elaborate and more varied by the minute.
Depending on the location of your venue, many couples are also choosing to include some locally sourced, regional specialities to their grazing tables, and we have seen everything from artisan Snowdonia cheese at our award-winning Welsh venue, Talhenbont Hall, to delicious smoked Cheshire Ham’s at our premium Cheshire venue, Delamere Manor.

We used Cheeky Chilli for our wedding at Talhenbont Hall - would strongly recommend! They had a large range of choices on their menu but also made it clear we could have anything else off the menu. The food was delicious and we got lots of compliments, and the staff were really organised and relaxed. The evening food was really popular and the staff made sure it was distributed to everyone.
